Doggiebiscuties is Where Art and Quality Become Opportunity

For years I have been intrigued by multi level marketing.  For years I have been somewhat successful as a small food manufacturer, clean and simple, selling to markets but the idea of owning such a business never left me.

I had put the idea of MLM behind me for a very long time, tired of being pitched by everyone and his mother about the best plan, the best product, the best this and the best that.  Enough I said.  Leave me alone with my own little food manufacturing business.  But when you look like the gullible one some people never let go and they will continue to pitch you even at the movies.  Anyhow, lately a friend of mine who has been struggling in the mortgage business, got involve in some "Hot" mlm deal.  He was careful and elegant about his approach and I wanted to reciprocate by listening.  Five minutes later I had to tell him " Hey Joe, pass the Advil "

But the guy had planted a bug in me, I must admit.  So I started reading about the good, the bad and the ugly about this field which some, like me, run away from.   No... don't worry, this is not the beginning of a pitch for some miracle product with some Incredible compensation plan but rather a self introspection which many a person has to often go through.

So, I started surfing the web and started to call on programmers for curiosity's sake.   What I found out is that there are literally tens of thousands of mlm opportunities out there.  Each one of them is the best one, so they say.   Obviously, who am I not to believe them?

So here is what crossed my mind.  Can anyone make if not a living but at least some money with a simple plan and a simple product?  Frankly I have no idea.  But… here is something else that crossed my mind.  I have a product line of dog treats that I sell directly to consumers.  No advertising, no nothing, but people love that line because the packaging makes a wonderful artsy gift to someone who has a dog and dogs love the product, so the feedback reports.

Going through this process, I began to get into something I had no interest for before.  Numbers!  No, not dollars and cents.  Just numbers and here is the reason why.  I was curious to know if I could lay out a spreadsheet which would represent down lines of a number of people and to find out how the whole mlm process works.  Ah ah!  I have put my finger on the inner sanctum of this marketing strategy and boy does everyone protect it!   Unable to do that [a spreadsheet] my research went even deeper and found out that all the thousands of websites I visited were trying to sell me something no matter how I googled  the research i.e.  Computation. Compilation, calculation, hierarchy, genealogy…. You name it.   Even the ones [websites] who were saying "Free this and free that.." had a twist to lure you into applying for something you didn’t want.     Of course over the years I’ve learned a favorite expression of Americans (I'm an import you see.) "There is no free lunch" and I know that everything has a price but this quest for knowledge got me to believe that without having to resort to deceptive advertising and without a super complicated formula, one can do and offer something worthwhile.

The question now is this:  Everything, every venture takes an enormous amount of work and dedication, whether you are on the start up end or down the line, so.,  am I ready for all that?  As a workaholic, I'd say Yes.  My wife says: Perhaps not, but always so encouraging and positive a companion she is she quickly adds “ But you can try…”.  Another question is:  Are the rewards worth the effort?  More often than not they are but really, who knows!

Okay, why even bother with these ramblings?    Well... just because.  Perhaps some of you can identify with such elucubrations and realize you are not alone when it comes to making a decision, nor are you alone at struggling with the notion: do I want more and why?  As someone famous, somewhere must have said: “ It’s for the fun of it” and the money of course.
